KU Resources, Inc. has hired Rachel Upadhyay as a staff engineer. Ms. Upadhyay graduated with honors recently from the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering, where she earned Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
“Rachel’s outstanding academic record and research experience throughout her undergraduate career put her in a strong position to serve our clients,” says Tysen Miller, KU Resources’ engineering manager. “Her contributions to a University of Pittsburgh research team studying the effects of nuclear waste in deep boreholes for a U.S. Department of Energy proposal, and her presentation of the findings at an American Geophysical Union Conference, are most impressive.”
Ms. Upadhyay also interned at Electron Energy Corporation in Landisville, PA, where she organized and managed a pair of government-funded laboratory research projects related to the production and testing of neodymium (NdFeB) magnets. She supplemented her lab experiences by studying abroad at the Munich University of Applied Sciences.
