A cost effective solution
for your environmental needs!

History

KU Resources, Inc. was formed in January 1997 to provide environmental management consulting. The founding Principals, David R. Kerschner and Mark R. Urbassik, believed that lowering the overall cost structure and offering timely, customized solutions for clients would provide a practical business philosophy.

Armed with this philosophy, KU Resources experienced periods of rapid growth from 1997 through 2000. Throughout this period, the workforce doubled in size each year to efficiently respond to rising demand. This increase in personnel allowed for a smooth transition between the introductory and growth stages of business.

Within this transition, KU Resources established its Akron office in 1999. This satellite office was designed to expand business in Ohio, while maintaining the overall business philosophy. The personnel specialize in geology and hydrogeology, subsurface assessment and remediation, environmental management, and regulatory compliance. Over the years, they have conducted environmental investigations and hydrogeological studies for many industrial, municipal, and commercial clients and have expanded their experience in water resources, soil and groundwater investigation, and soil and groundwater remediation methodologies.

In October of 2003, KU Resources seized the opportunity to enter the civil and geotechnical engineering sectors. This program was developed to include services such as construction certification, geotechnical engineering, mine permitting, remedial design, site development, and solid waste management. The Principals believed that by diversifying their services they would maximize the overall value to clients.

In January 2004, the company capitalized on another opportunity to amplify their value by entering the air quality compliance industry. This program was designed to offer permitting, technology determination, software recordkeeping systems, compliance audits, regulatory agency negotiations, annual emissions, and problem resolution services.

With expansions in the workforce, services, clients, and projects, KU Resources moved to a new location in June 2004. With continual growth, the company outgrew the new location and acquired additional space in January 2007 to adapt to the changing business environment.

KU Resources is in its tenth year of business, providing a mix of multi-disciplined services and customized solutions to its clients’ biggest challenges. Currently, the company remains in the growth phase and will continue to diversify its workforce by incorporating individuals with varying expertise.
