State Voluntary Cleanup Programs
KU Resources continues to keep abreast of the voluntary cleanup programs currently
in place or under development in various states. Our staff is certified under Pennsylvania’s,
West Virginia’s, and Ohio’s voluntary programs.
Many state cleanup projects begin with Phase I environmental site assessments (ESAs). If contamination
surfaces under Phase I ESA, a Phase II ESA is conducted to further investigate any contamination. KU Resources
has significant experience in conducting Phase I ESAs, Phase II ESAs, and other various activities associated
with a state’s voluntary cleanup program. This experience allows us to implement a state voluntary cleanup
project from start to finish.
We are committed to helping clients achieve timely, resourceful solutions, while addressing all risks associated
with the project. In addition, we often reduce or eliminate the need for expensive remediation equipment and long-term
monitoring requirements.
Experience
Our experience has allowed us to develop an understanding of the regulatory and technical implications surrounding
each state’s voluntary cleanup program. We will incorporate this knowledge into creating customized approaches to each
project.
Since its inception in 1997, KU Resources has specialized in brownfield and redevelopment projects. This focus has
allowed us to develop extensive knowledge with the various state requirements surrounding their specific cleanup program.
Through this knowledge and experience, we have established a working relationship with various state regulators and
redevelopment authorities.
