Pennsylvania Act 2
KU Resources assists clients in achieving cost effective site closures associated with the
Pennsylvania Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act (Act 2). KU Resources’ extensive
Act 2 experience helps clients achieve timely, cost effective closures, while scientifically addressing human
health and ecological risks. In addition, we often minimize or eliminate the need for obstructive, expensive
remediation equipment and long-term monitoring requirements.
Experience
KU Resources has successfully conducted more than 50 brownfield, redevelopment, and Act 2 projects in Pennsylvania
in the past 8 years. In addition, we have targeted brownfield redevelopment since our inception and have practiced in
this area even before the passage of Act 2.
Our background and experience allows us to develop a clear understanding of the various requirements surrounding
an Act 2 project. Through this understanding, we systematically and efficiently execute the technical issues of
Pennsylvania land recycling projects, facilitate amicable participation among all stakeholders, and understand what the
PADEP requires for deliverables developed pursuant to Act 2.
KU Resources became an industry leader in promoting realistic, risk-based cleanups and have a proven track record under
Act 2. Through this track record, we have built a strong working relationship with Pennsylvania state regulators and
redevelopment authorities. Our experience also includes helping our clients obtain over $2 million in Federal and state grants.
